sing-box mobile setup guide for iOS and Android

Import a sing-box subscription on iOS or Android, apply recommended settings, and troubleshoot connection issues.

Updated 2026-07-106 min read

ShieldFlow provides a sing-box subscription that can be used by the official sing-box app on iOS and by compatible Android clients such as Hiddify or NekoBox. The important rule is simple: use the sing-box format, not the Clash or V2Ray format.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Install sing-box from the App Store.
  2. In Safari, sign in to ShieldFlow and copy the sing-box subscription URL.
  3. Open sing-box, go to Profiles, tap +, then choose Remote.
  4. Name it ShieldFlow, paste the URL, save, and activate the new profile.
  5. Start the service and approve the iOS VPN permission on first use.

Android

Use a sing-box-compatible client from its official project page. ShieldFlow currently lists Hiddify and NekoBox on the client setup page so users can verify the download source before installation.

  1. Install the client from its official release page.
  2. Copy the sing-box subscription URL from ShieldFlow.
  3. Choose add from clipboard or remote profile, paste the URL, and wait for the profile to download.
  4. Select a nearby node, connect, and approve Android's VPN permission.
Android may suspend VPN apps in the background. Set battery usage to unrestricted for the selected client if the tunnel disconnects when the screen is off.

Recommended profile settings

  • Enable automatic profile updates every 12 to 24 hours.
  • Start with rule mode; use global mode only for diagnosis.
  • Keep one stable region for account-based services instead of changing countries repeatedly.
  • Update the client before troubleshooting protocol compatibility.

Import troubleshooting

Parse error

Delete the failed profile and confirm that you copied the sing-box format. Subscription formats are not interchangeable.

Profile downloads but cannot connect

Refresh the profile, test another online node, and temporarily disable conflicting local VPN or DNS applications.

Works on Wi-Fi but not mobile data

Try a TCP-based Reality node if the mobile network limits UDP, then compare with Hysteria2 after connectivity is restored.
